Cirque de la Decadence

At a first glance this is a striking image, well composed and with excellent, complimenting colors. I especially love the smoke effect, which creates a nice texture and softens the image.

But after looking at the image for a moment longer, it becomes slightly chaotic. There's too much for the eye to focus on, especially rhe monkey whose face seems to hover in the air, not attached to a body. First it looks like it's a logical composition, with a place for everyone, but that's not the case. For me it's slightly confusing that the other characters mostly just hover around. There's quite much going on in the picture. Maybe you could connect the characters somehow, use trapezes or other structures to give them a reason to be in the picture?
